Tuesday Book Blog: Rituals for Transformation

Today I wanted to blog for just minute on a book I recently bought, Rituals for Transformation - 108 Day Journey to Your Sacred Life by Briana and Dr. Peter Borten of The Dragontree Apothecary.  On this link to their website, you will see some videos that you can watch that explain in greater depth what this book is about.  I'll just give you a brief synopsis and it could possibly be something that will change your life.  If this book is something you are interested in, there is usually a 10% off code.
The book is a beautifully done hardbound textured book with a gold embossed Rituals for Transformation title.  There is also a pretty blue ribbon to keep your place in the book as you use it.  It has a clear set of instructions in the beginning to aid you in getting a full awareness of how it can help you.  Each intention is done with beautiful calligraphy fonts.  It is Christian based as well as Eastern religiously based beliefs of Hinduism and Buddhism.

The premise of this book is similar to an "intention" used by Yogis.  Each page has a new thought or idea for you to explore to help to make you better a person than you were the day before.  Here are a few page samples of the pages in the book:
Then, you have the opportunity to spend time focusing on this intention for the day.  Each day starts off with the intention for the day.  The beauty of the book is that you don't have to think about what your intention will be - it's already outlined for you in the book.

Once you read the intention, there is a short half page lesson regarding that intention.  These small statements or little paragraphs are intended for you to release limiting beliefs, open yourself to new ideas and accept a higher consciousness to know yourself better and be a higher self of who you are now.

Following the intention and the little lesson, it asks you to take a few minutes to meditate on your intention - a state of manipulated awareness in which your intention fills your mind.

After this your set your intention down in writing.  It can be the same as the book or a slightly different variation of words relating to the intention in the book or you personally.

Once this is accomplished, you now will journal for just a few lines in your morning writing.  By writing things down you are releasing your past and starting anew with a fresh, new goal.  It also promotes physical and psychological healing and be a confidence builder for the day.

During the day, reflect back to your intention.  You can use a sticky note on the fridge, a pop-up reminder on your phone, add it to a small frame by your computer each day, etc.

At night, you will then revisit and reflect upon your day with your intention and meditate on it's efficacy of how your lived your day.

Then, journal again your thoughts at the close of the day.  Add words of gratitude and record your impressions.  Gratitude with each intention will change your life as much as living with the intention.
