Scott participated in the Early Bird Golf Tournament this morning. People from all over the RV park (and some from El Centro) were headed over to the Club House all morning long. The cost for the event was only $2 and tonight is the Hamburger dinner at Ryerson Hall which was $6 per person for participants and spouses. Scott had the first tee time at 8 a.m. The weather was a glorious 74 degrees. Perfect golfing weather!
Scott played golf with three other guys: Joe, Charlie and Carl.

Charlie is a 96 year old single man; never been married. When Scott went to the hot tub last night he met Paul and Shirene and ironically they talking about Charlie, their RV neighbor, and how impressed they were that at 96 years old he was so spry and chipper and lived all by himself at such an age. After watching him golf, I have no doubt the man will live well past 100 years!
When they came to the 6th hole (where our rig is parked) I took a few photos and videos.

Here is a video of the guys walking to the 6th hole. Aren't they so cute?

Then, off Scott leads his band of brothers as they went to the 7th green.
I decided I'd follow them over the 8th hole and watch them putt.

...and then followed them to the last hole.

And, Scott had the closest putt. Nice job! |
When they were done I took all their photos. Scott said they did pretty well on the tournament with 2 birdies and 7 pars. Not bad.
The Club House still have many foursomes waiting to tee off and the tournament will probably go on yet for a few more hours.
And I went inside and saw that there is yet another tournament on November 23rd. It's the 32nd Annual Jack Kirby Classic Turkey Shoot on Thanksgiving morning.
Wasn't it a beautiful day for a tournament? I'm glad Scott took some time to do a little golfing as he's working way too much lately. He needs a little break. At least he was lucky to get the first starting time of they day so he could get back to work.
