Traveler's World RV Resort

We finally left Fort Davis at about 12:30 pm and started heading toward San Antonio.  We had a good 6-hour drive and we'd also have to stop for some diesel, so we weren't going to arrive until about 8 pm.  Scott called the Traveler's World RV Resort and booked us a two night stay here.
On the drive into San Antonio, we went through VERY bad 10 mile storm.  It was hoping we were going to avert it, but we headed right into the heart of it.  The storm was just sitting in one small circle on I-25 and the downpour, thunder and lightening flashes were so intense that I pulled off the freeway and sat under an overpass waiting to see which way the storm was heading...unfortunately, it was heading east...same as us. I had no choice but to go through it.  I didn't know how long it would be, but it only last about 10 miles and I was very relieved to get out of it.
Escaping the storm
Daylight - yeah!
Once we started getting into San Antonio traffic, I was horrified to learn that they are much worse than Utah drivers and I'm shocked that there were no fatalities on the road. One guy nearly forced me off the road because he was in such a big hurry.  Uggh!

But, we're here now...and tomorrow I'll finish up with photos since it's too late to do it now...

We were assigned unit #99 but Scott said we didn't get water hook-ups.  I think we'll look into that in the morning.
It's funny.  When we called to see if there was space available they acted like they couldn't find anything.  Lo and behold, when we got here there was nearly the entire center section without RV from space 83-105.  I think there were only 4 of us in this whole center pull thru area.  Oh well. More tomorrow...

We did have water hookups but instead of it being a typical pipe, it has metal cap over ours. I was able to get a really nice hot shower and a long overdo hair wash this morning.  Ahhh.  I'm feeling like a new person.
Our Montana in the park...way down the road from anything.
We had to walk a long way to get to the showers and the pool.
Here are some photos of the park.  It's a pretty pricey park and they layout is very well organized, the pad are fabulous with a nice slab of concrete and picnic tables for each site, but this heat makes it a bit unenjoyable especially since there are only trees on the edges of the park and the rest of the units are brush and cacti making it extra hot.

Let's start with the office.

The Office
Next is bath house
The doors are on the left and the rest of the building is the Hall.
Very large showers and roomy area to change.
Men and Wome's restrooms are also inside.
There are two uni-sex showers.
Now let's take a look at the laundry room:
The Exterior
Plenty of washers and a television to keep you company while you're waiting for the wash.
Lots of dryers and a holder table.
There is also nice pet area of astroturf for the poochies and a lot of room to run around.
Pet area right next to the showers.
At the end of our row near the entrance is the pool, hot tub and restrooms.  The pool does have a handicap assist for anyone using a wheel chair.  After our excursion today to the Alamo and the Downtown San Antonio Riverwalk, Scott took the kids swimming.
Pool and Hot Tub area
Cierra ready to dive in.
And changed her mind to a jump.
Hunter decided to do a solid belly flop. Ouch!
Not a big pool, but it does the trick.
It seems that there is a locals area and a coming through area for travelers.  Here are photos to show the contrast of who resides here and the foliage of greenery.
Lots of trees on the outskirts of the park.
A permanent residence...
...right new to a temporary one.
And,a 45 degree turn later and you get desolation...
Another cool thing is that the Riverwalk is also adjacent to the park...not the downtown one but attached.  Also a photo of the bus station right at the park.
I liked this park but I would have showers in 2 areas for residents. If you're someone who likes to walk a lot, then there are no worries.  They had all the necessities and the park was nice and clean.  I think the hardest part was the weather and they can't do much about that except or more trees.  The park is neat and clean with very friendly residents.  Don't miss this one if you want to be close to downtown San Antonio and see the sites.
