Pin Oak Creek RV Park

We rolled into Pin Oak Creek RV Park after going to the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site in St. Louis.  The directions were very easy to follow and we were there 30 minutes after leaving St. Louis.
Pin Oak Creek RV Park states that this is a resort park, but I beg to differ.  While the sites are nice, not all are equal.  The park is set up so that each site holds 2 units that park back to back. One pulls through and the other backs into the unit.  It doesn't seem very private this way.  Also, some have nice grassy sites while others are nothing but dirt...and MUD when it rains.  We were assigned B2, close to the office and the main road, but had little grass while whoever is going to back into us has a lot of lush grass!  We were supposed to have a pull-through private site and we ended up getting a site shared with another family, although whoever they are have not yet arrived.  The park also offers cabin rentals and some unit are housed with mobile homes. My favorite sites are F13 and F11 of the premium blue sites...gives the girls a lot of room to play and very grassy.

The park office is small but it is also housed in a HUGE camp store!  Off the store in the same building is a big game room with video machines, pool table, DVDs to borrow.
Off the this room is the laundry facilities and shower. The laundry is probably the best and cleanest of all the amenity services and they have six washers and dryers.  The bathroom/shower rooms are very old, smell of mildew and need to be updated. The main office bathrooms had a sign that said the hot water wasn't working. These bathrooms are the closest to our unit.
Mildewy and smelly!
The second bathroom/shower building is next to the pool; still close to us but could be an inconvenience for a park of this size.
The park also have a pavilion and pool. The pool has no lifeguard, so you swim at your own risk.
The park has a stocked pond that you can fish in and many ducks.
A playground is a welcome site for the children and there is also pee-wee golf up by the road.
If you want Internet or Wi-Fi, the park uses a third party business and will charge you $5 per day or $30 per month for usage. Verizon and AT&T have a good signal for phone and data. Be sure to have your own hotspot and/or your own means of getting the Internet. There is NO Cable service at all.

There are also many area attractions within 40 minutes of the park.

While the park is average, there is poor Internet service, no cable and the bathrooms smell of mildew. The dining/game room is old and dingy.  The park store is a nice convenience. The sites are average and have dirt pads which is a mess during rain.  My rating would be a average to poor. 4/10 or 3 stars.
