Rosemary & Thyme Dinner in Downtown Americus, Georgia

Since we were stuck in Americus, Georgia for one last day while the RV got fixed, we decided to hit the town and get a good, home-cooked dinner.  Scott asked me if I wanted Mexican, Chinese or comfort food.  I'm a comfort food kind of girl when I'm on the road and after a few days of eating garbage while driving, it's nice to just get a good home-cooked meal. So, we choose Rosemary & Thyme located in the historic Best Western Windsor Hotel on Lamar Street.  The restaurant boasts a 4.5 - 5/5 rating on dining experiences, so that was the place for me!
The hotel itself is AMAZINGLY appointed with gorgeous antique fixtures, furnishings and ambiance.  The history of the Windsor Hotel is here if you want to read about it.  The 5-story building is simply amazing!  But, it was build in 1892 to attract winter visitors from the north.

The menu is an upscale modern American restaurant with flavorful fresh ingredients and open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Here are photos of the restaurant and the menu.  It was an elegant feel and you felt like you were walking back in time to 1892.
We ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes and Pimento Cheese Fritters as a starter and went with Southern Comfort since we were in Georgia.  Scott had the Stuffed Pork entree and I had the Deconstructed Chicken Cordon Bleu.
We started eating before we realized we forgot to photograph the starters.
For dessert, Scott had Peach Pie and I had a Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with Ice-Cream.  It was a wonderful meal although it was $127 but we had enough left over for another meal the following day.
Tonight (June 28th), I felt like more comfort food, so Scott whipped up a Beef Stroganoff with fresh mushrooms and green beans tonight in our Instapot and it only cost us $15.00, so you can go out or you can eat in, but while you're RVing you can eat just as good in the rig as you can at home.
