Beagle Bay RV Haven & Campground - Sarcoxie, MO

After Fort Scott, Kansas we drove to our final destination of Sarcoxie, Missouri where we stayed at Beagle Bay RV Haven & Campground.  This place was really nice as far as the campground part of it was concerned.  There were many, many oaks, maples and shrubs covering the entire grounds.  We had site 15, which was a nice shady site.  Scott didn't get his Internet, but once in awhile, I like to feel like I'm in the woods.  We ended up being about 30 minutes from my brother, Dave's place but we had a fun camp feel at Beagle Bay.  We gave the park a 3/5 rating...5 for the camping portion with site that had picnic tables, swings and great fire pits.  But, we gave the park a 1 for the overall condition of the building and availability of amenities.
We had site 15.  Our rig is so big we were supposed to be at site 5 but someone didn't leave when they were supposed to, so they put is way down by the pond, which was fine with me because it was farther from the noisy freeway.  We paid $27 per night less Good Sam discount.

Here's photos of where we were:
The grounds
Every site had a picnic table, swing and fire pit
Great camping setting
Firewood - $3 per bundle
Swimming pool 4'5" deep
Not the best play area
Kinda boring for kids and right on the busy highway
A slightly neglected koi pond - see the freeway beyond?
Wide angle of the music junk room, playground and pool
Bathrooms behind the office - They were humid and musty.
3 showers, 3 stalls, 4 sinks
Sinks
Toilet - not bad
Showers were very small but had a private dressing area
Laundry/Game area on other side of office
Laundry/Game entry
Game Room was closed!
Laundry was small $1.75 wash / $1.75 dry
Grassy area by pond
Chicken coop
VERY friendly chickens!
Bunnies in the field
Small pink wild roses
Swampy pond
Pond and grass area for large gathering
We really did enjoy the campground.  Had a lovely Midwest thunderstorm one night.  Very fun!  If the amenitities were in better condition, this could be a great place to stay.  Convenient to I-44 freeway - but also a bit noisy.  The hosts were friendly.
