Natchez Trace RV Park and our Dodge Challenger Rental

We arrived in Shannon, Mississippi (Tupelo) at 4 p.m. on the 15th (12 miles west of Tupelo).  It was a long, hard drive but got to Natchez Trace RV Park.  It's a nice small park right on Natchez Trace - the 440 mile trading road leading from Nashville, TN to Natchez, MS.  Traders long ago would float down the Mississippi with their goods, trade them and then walk back to Tennessee and this parkway became known as Natchez Trace and Nashville Trace depending upon which way you were traveling.
The park is small but very nice. There are only 25 spaces in the entire park...all pull through except for 5.  We were assigned site 5 and in my opinion the BEST site in the whole park with a bunch of crabgrass all around us for the poochies.  Although, while the grass is nice, it is the south and bugs galore are all over the grass, so it was a love/hate relationship.  The owners of the park live next door in a trailer residence so they are easily reachable when needed.  We gave this park a 3/5 rating.  While the spots were nice, the toilets and showers were not working, there was only 1 washer and 1 dryer, and a very small pool.  Regular pricing is cheap at $28.80 per night but we paid $26.00 with our Good Sam Discount.

There was no Internet, no Hot-Spots, no AT&T and Scott could only get 3G.  His iPad, he was able to get LTE access.  His Verizon and LTE outside, 1x inside the rig.  T-Mobile had no service.  Internet was non-existent and TV nadda...but I'm ok about that.  Again, the grounds were lovely and the setting quite pretty on the Trace (5 rating) but the rest of the building, facilities and lack of Internet dropped (0 rating) giving us a 3 overall rating.

We were supposed to check out on June 17th, but when we got on the road our Service Trailer Brake System Light was on and the Trailer Brakes Disconnected problem was back so Scott booked an appointment for the following morning with the Dodge dealership.
We got to the Enterprise Rental company just before closing and wanted a little compact car but it was so smoky they gave us this Dodge Challenger instead at no additional cost.  So, we rented a car from Enterprise...a 2019 Dodge Challenger.  It was nice to be in a sporty, zippy car instead of a big truck for the next 24 hours!  While Scott was doing paperwork, a gentleman came in looking for work and I asked him what Tupelo was famous for.  He said Elvis Presley was born here and there is a museum, his church and home tour in town...guess where I'll be tomorrow?!
Tomorrow, Scott had an appointment first thing to check out the truck for a wiring issue with the trailer and to get the oil changed since we had to bring it in.  Hopefully, the fix is only a quick one...In the meantime, the Challenger, it is. Vvvrrroooommm! Vvvrrroooommm!
Our ride for the weekend while the truck gets fixed
