Lumberton, North Carolina KOA

We arrived at 2:45 p.m. on June 23rd at the Lumberton/I-95, NC KOA after seeing Congaree and Shaw AFB.  It was hot when we arrived but glad to be one stop away from seeing the grandkids.  This KOA was located at 465 Kenric Rd in Lumberton.  The nightly rate was $49 but we got 10% for being KOA members bringing the cost down to $44.10.
We were assigned site #101.  My only complaint was that there were very few trees and our unit was hot.  Scott likes it that way so he can have his satellite.  Me, I prefer quiet and trees and cool.  Some sites closer to the tree-line had an abundance of trees, but not us.  The park filled completely up by evening and in the morning, when we left after Sunday church, it was nearly empty again.
It is a transitioning KOA with the owners just purchasing it last year.  Since then, they remodeled the old bathroom where we were located with brand new ones that were stunning.  One of them was a very large family-style room and the other 2 were still large shower/toilet/sink rooms.  I was impressed.
The grounds were a little sparse creating a feeling of heat, but the grounds are getting to be in good shape. It's a fairly large park with 107 Pull-thru 100 foot RV spaces with 14 back-in sites and 5 tent sites.  We gave this park a 4/5 rating and would go back again.  The owners Rick and Cindy were very, very nice and collect your trash every morning and dispose of it for you.

Here are some photos of the location.
As I was taking photos I noticed an old cemetery over by the pool and since I LOVE cemeteries, I took a look.  It was the Howell Family Cemetery and not part of the RV Park.
You won't be disappointed with this RV park other than the shade issue and the sparse feeling.  The amenities are very good and it's a safe place to be.
