Sundance RV Resort in Cortez, Colorado (July 2017)

We arrived late last night to one of our favorite destinations - Sundance RV Park - in Cortez, Colorado. I don't know what it is about this park that just seems to settle my frazzled nerves, but it sure does. I really like this cute little town, too. There's action and yet it's pretty quiet at the same time.  The streets of Main Street are pretty narrow, but there's plenty of things to keep you busy in town. During our last visit in May 2017 we were in unit 16 where now a little light green Road Pod is housed.  Today we're in unit 34, which is a nice pull thru unit that is very wide and long right next to the public bathrooms and laundry.  It will be our home anytime we come back here. We have a huge grassy area for Coco and Chanel  to play as you can see by the photos of our spot.
I like this park because there is grass attached to about 75% of the units. The units the farthest away from the office in the center are only gravel. If you don't have dogs, then the gravel shouldn't bother you too at all.
This park is full of trees and I like that feeling of peace.  This morning the manager, who is always driving around in his golf cart, had an attachment that allows him to sweep the rake the gravel edges for debris.  Pretty slick.  The bathroom making sure they are SUPER clean as a whistle.
Restroom, Showers and Laundry Room
Park residents are generally very relaxed and friends.  I had just stepped out of the truck while Scott was setting up and the lady in the light green Road Pod came over with her two Bison Friche's and had to say hello.  Of course, she had to fill me in on the dog attack that happened a few days ago from a pit bull that came bolting out of the RV it was in (actually the unit next to me) and attacked a poor 19 year old Shiz Tsu dog.  The little dog had to go to the vet and left with 2 drain tubes. According to the site managers, the lady walking the dog, slipped and fell and the big dog ran out.  The dog was a service dog to a man who had PTSD.  All ended up fine, but I'm sure there will now be a "no aggressive animals allowed" protocol put into place after that for this RV Park.  After our daughter Lisa was attacked in Salt Lake City as a child by an aggressive dog, I think this is probably a good idea for both people and pets. Dogs are welcome at the park, but must be leased and restrained at all times.

Today, many people stopped by to chat and all the kids and teens in the park found they way to our site to hang out with Cierra and Hunter and the girls.

Another great thing about this RV park is that the office is in pristine condition and has a lot of service repairmen cards for your RV unit.

Very pretty office with flowers
Everything at the RV park is immaculate
Front Desk - Very well organized and the manager are delightful to chat with!
Brochure and Service Center
They even have a small store and games for the kids to check out.
This is the grassy area for games
Attached to the office is also a large pavilion for group parties and entertainment
especially during holidays where they have park pot luck dinners.
They even have a nice storage area and dump area.
Scott is currently at the store shopping for groceries but he picked up 2 business cards before he left. Hopefully we can get our rig fixed before we leave Cortez.  Tomorrow, we have a guy coming from Durango to look at all our electrical issues we're having. We still need to find out how to get the Satellite sealed better, but we're making progress and getting the kinks out of the RV.

Rates for this park is $40 per night and $240 weekly (pay for 6, get 1 free).  There are discounts for AAA, AARP, Good Sams and Military at 10% off.  You have up to 48 hours to cancel reservations without a fee.  There rates and policies are linked.  A list of there amenities are linked also.  Big rigs are always welcome. There is also a good list of things to do in the area also linked.

Area of units 34-39 on the left (our unit is the rig) and about 6-12 on the right
Units from the office. We're the last rig on the left.
These are units on the opposite side of the managers office.  Units  47-53.
This is Gypsy Rose on the right from the opposite side of the park.
Rankings for this park are still 8-9.  The only thing it doesn't have is pool or hot tub amenities would could be very nice, but other than that, this is a super fun and friendly park.
