Beantown Campground in Bailey's Harbor, Wisconsin

We arrived in Door County by 1 p.m. on July 28th and I loved finally getting to Door County.  I wanted to come here my whole life and now I was finally here!  Excitement is an understatement!  So, before I start with all our adventures here, I'll post about the Beantown Campground that we stayed at.
The office was in just a storage type building.
Beantown Campground is located in Bailey's Harbor.  Bailey's Harbor and Sturgeon Bay are both very sentimental to me.  Bailey's Harbor is where my 3 great grandfather, Newton Bacon was the lighthouse keeper from 1855-1863 in the Old Bailey's Harbor Birdcage Lighthouse.  I wanted to go and see the lighthouse and where the little family lived for 8 years and was the longest lighthouse keeper at the Birdcage.  Many of the other lighthouse keepers lasted only half of a season and one other for a few years.  The family lived in the cottage on what is now a little island.  I'm not sure if it was an island then, but it is not - just of Ridges Road.  This is why Scott booked us in Bailey's Harbor.
Beantown Campground is located at 8398 County Rd F.  It's an average campground but had less trees than I imagined or hoped for.  We paid $44 per night and $392.48 for the 10 nights we stayed there.  Monthly rates are $900 or $1900 for a season.  We were assigned site 97, tucked away on the right edge of the park.  I think nearly every site was a pull through with a few back in sites on the outer edges.  If we returned, site 98 would be the best, but 97 was fine also.

The office had a small store (more like a clothes boutique) with a cute teenager running the store.
Here are a few photos of this campground.  This is the bath house and laundry area.
The next photos are of the pool, playground.
The pool with the Bath House in the distance.
The playground was on the County Rd F, which I didn't like.
I would have put it down by the large empty field.
There was also a large gathering room in the big shed that was the office.
Next are photos of the two types of cabins.
And, some of the sites and roads.
We gave this park a 3 rating.  It was average.  Nothing to really say bad except that the trees were very low and scrape RVs on the exit areas (the owner finally trimmed the trees) and really nothing good to say.  It was just a place to stay.  These two photo were the only two exits we could use and the width is so narrow it scrapes the RVs.
The owner refused to trim the trees.
This is our row...see the dually on the back right?
The owner did cut down the dead leaves here on the left.
