Clary Calm Essential Oil

I've just turned 58 and while we were gone all summer traveling the southern part of the country, it seemed that I was hot one minute and cold the next. Poor Scott didn't know why the A/C was on and then off we drove.  I'm surprised he didn't get sick.

At night, I would sweat profusely waking up dripping in sweat.  I just chalked it up to being in the heat and humidity of Texas, the Southern States, East Coast and the Midwest, but once we got back home, I was still having these hot and cold sensations that I didn't have before we left...then it dawned on me that I must be having HOT FLASHES!

I was feeling simply miserable.  I couldn't sleep all those nights and I was beginning get more and more tired throughout the day and exhausted from not sleeping during the nights. Finally, I thought to myself, "Self, I better figure out what to do about this".  So, I opened up my Essential Oil Bible and read the definition for Hot Flashes under Female-Specific Conditions.

The book also said that the best oil aids are:
  • Women's Monthly Blend
  • Grounding Blend
  • Peppermint
  • Clary Sage
Other good products to use could be:
  • Phytoestrogen Complex
  • Daily Supplement Pack (LLV)
For Hormone Balancing, Modern Essentials recommended:
  • Women's Monthly Blend
  • Ylang Ylang
  • Clary Sage

Clary Calm is the Monthly Blend for Women.  I had a bottle but had never tried it before. So, I decided to apply some Clary Calm essential oil to the bottoms of my feet and ankles letting the sweet aroma fill my nasal passages as I worked in the oil. Then, I applied it to my forearms and wrists and then breathed the scent in my hands and rubbed the back of my neck and climbed into bed.  Amazingly, last night was the first time I've slept the whole night through in over six weeks!  For the first time in weeks, I went to bed relaxed and slept the entire night through without waking and didn't notice any hot or cold discomfort.  I woke up refreshed and ready to start the day today.  I can't wait to use it again tonight.

Thanks, Clary Calm!

Clary Calm Ingredients: Clary Sage Flower, Lavender Flower, Bergamot Peel, Roman Chamomile Flower, Ylang Ylang Flower, Cedarwood Wood, Geranium Stem/Leaf, Fennel Seed, Carrot Seed, Palmarosa Herb and Vitex Leaf/Berry essential oils.  Doesn't this sound just heavenly?!

Music and the Spoken Word - Mormon Tabernacle Choir & Symphony Orchestra

After convention, we decided to stay in Salt Lake City one more night and attend Music and the Spoken Word with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Symphony Orchestra on Temple Square at the old Tabernacle building. Distinguished dignitaries from Rwanda, China, Turkey and others who attended the doTERRA convention were also in attendance.  The greeters for the production were surprised by how many people attended the performance and quickly realized it was doTERRA convention and many had stayed for the performance.
Again, we waited in line.  There were two lines. We were in the south line and there were just this many people in the north line!
While Scott waited in line, I took photos around Temple Square.
Once inside we were able to get front row seats.  I think sitting in the front row of the 2nd section would have been the perfect spot, but it was fun to watch everything up close and personal.  That way you can see everything very clearly.  We took photos while the choir warmed up and then the announcer gave us instructions on being quiet during the performance.
The Tabernacle is nearly full with still 30 minutes before performance time.
Warming up
Mack Wilburg leads the choir - an amazing musician!
It was the 4,591 continuous live broadcast the choir has done in 85 years and the theme was "The Need to be Appreciated" narrated by Lloyd D. Newell.  The music was lovely and we were very blessed to hear the performance live.  Even while standing in line, we could hear the choir perfectly as the acoustics in the building are amazing!
At the end of the production, the director, Mack Wilberg, lead the choir and symphony in singing, "God Be With You."  I love that song!  It was a wonderful way to spend the Sabbath.

doTERRA Convention 2017

Scott and I attended the 2017 doTERRA Convention entitled "You" held in Salt Lake City, Utah September 6-9, 2017.
We don't go on the first day because that more registration, but we attended classes from the 7-9th.  As mentioned in a prior post, we stayed at the Pony Express RV Park in Salt Lake City next to I-215 and Redwood Road and had to drive to the TRAX station and then take the train to city center.  Next year, we've already booked the KOA Salt Lake City, which is directly across the street from the TRAX station.
We thought we were going to be smart and register the day before classes so after we set up the RV we headed to SLC.  What can I say?  The crowds were something else!  Every year I think it can't be worse than the year before, but it is!  30,000 people converging in 2 square blocks can be a bit overwhelming but exciting at the same time.  Usually, we go to the Vivint Area but this year it was under construction, so ALL 30,000 people were in the Salt Palace Convention Center! WOW!  I felt like I was living back in China all over again...
Web Photo
We stayed in this line all the way to the escalators
(two black lines at the back of this photo)
Then we got in yet another long line...ours was the longest of all the lines, naturally!
People waiting to get their name badges and wristbands
If it were me, I think I would have local people in the Provo/Salt Lake City area pick their name badges and wristbands to elevate some of the crowing.  Perhaps mail attendees who are within 300 miles and then the remainder to pick up at convention.  Maybe that would help the lines not to be so long?  But, it was fun to watch all the people getting their photos taken all dressed up for the gala that night while waiting in line.
Finally, after about an hours and a half, we confirmed our registration and couldn't get out of there fast enough!  We went upstairs to where there were fewer people and headed back to the TRAX to feed the girls and plan our day tomorrow.
We were scheduled to be on Track A - the early morning session, however due to the Arena being worked on, it wasn't safe or people to be in that construction area, so plan B went into effect.  The Salt Palace was split in half - 15,000 in the West rooms where we attended (Hall 3-5) and 15,000 in the East rooms.  Usually the product showcase is in Hall 3-5 but instead they used the entire parking lot across the street for that and the concert with Rachel Platten - and entire square block!
We enjoyed topics during the entire convention and they were very uplifting.
Here are the new products doTERRA is releasing this year.  The convention kit is just AMAZING!   First, there a trio of oils for the Yoga Collection, Align, Anchor and Arise.  Then, an OnGuard sanitizing spray for your hands or surfaces that you can carry in your purse or pocket, Blue Tansy, Copaiba, and Siberian Fir oils and then to top it all off, Rose, Jasmine and Neroli floral oils!  I'm so excited about them! If you want to know more about how essential oils can transform your life, leave me a message below.
Can't wait for next year!  Convention is always great!

Pony Express RV Resort

We've been at the 2017 doTERRA Convention here in Salt Lake City, Utah for the past couple of days.  We took the RV (along with a bunch of other doTERRA Wellness Advocates who own RVs) and are staying at the Pony Express RV Resort.  The other location many doTERRA RVers are staying at is the Salt Lake City KOA located at 1400 W North Temple - right across the street from the TRAX system into downtown.  We are located right off I-15 and Redwood Road approximately 4 miles from the TRAX station. The KOA is more convenient, but this park is very nice.
The resort is set up first of all as a gated community with a pass-code to enter the resort. This is great for those who are security conscience.
They also have REAL GRASS -- not yucky crabgrass that the girls have had to endure all summer long.  With the grass comes some lousy rules that you are not allow to put up doggie gates outside your unit, which is a huge let down so that dogs have to stay in the RV. So, then what's the purpose for grass? It's funny because they want the park to look nice but people who stay here on a more permanent time have all sort of junk outside their units, so why no doggie fence?
There is a very nice office / store / clubhouse / laundry area / showers / bathrooms / pool area in the main building as you first enter the park.
The office is very professionally done with two attendants and a couple guys who help you part and set your rig.
Inside the main area is also a very large store with food, candy, refrigerated and frozen items, RV supplies and t-shirts and knicknacks.
Down the hall from the office on the left is the rec room decked out with a lovely fireplace, full kitchen, table and chairs, pool table, foosball, TV, etc.  The park is very family oriented so this is a nice bonus room, especially if you have family who live close by.
Across from the rec room is a nice set up for brochures of the area and surrounding states since Idaho and Wyoming are very close in proximity.  They also offer free coffee all day long.  And, there's a cool mural on the wall of Southern Utah.
There are also two rows of showers and bathrooms in this building and there are an additional 3 shower and bath facilities around the rest of the park.
The pool is outside and behind the building - fenced in.   While the pool is not heated (even though they claim it is), which is a disappointment for an adult, the kiddos in the park loved it all the same.  A sofa machine is just around the corner from the pool.
The main building also housed the laundry room.  It is very unique in that there are 6 sets of washer and dryers together throughout the room so that your washer and dryer are connected as one unit so to speak.  They also have vending to purchase soaps and softeners plus a TV to relax and enjoy while you wait. And, folding tables on sit with cubbies to store you baskets while you wait for laundry to be completed.
The park is set up as city streets with speed bumps everywhere to keep the traffic speed down.  Everything is in pristine shape from the grounds to the streets.  On Row B (our row) there is also a small soccer area for kids.  There is also a giant chess board, basketball, horseshoes and children's playground area.  They also have bikes and walking trails.
There are 3 bath/shower outbuildings.  The bathrooms are very spacious and Scott said it's one of the very best bathroom he's ever used since we've been RVing.
White vinyl enclosed dumpster areas, adjacent to the bathrooms, re on a rolling system so it's very easy to open the gate, toss the trash and close the gate for aesthetic purposes.
The park has Resort status because they also have a few types of cabins and tent camping area.  There are 10 standard, deluxe and premium cabins on the west end of the park as well as 13 cottages on the east side of the park, next to an RV sales and service shop.
This is the map of the park with the legend.  Our unit was B-40.  8th space on the left on the full pink row.  Yellow are Standard Sites, Orange are Deluxe Sites, Blue are Deluxe Plus Sites, Pink are Premium Sites, and Green are the Executive Sites.  All the sites are quite narrow and you feel a bit like a sardine except for the Green sites which are a bit wider.  We are the Premium sites and I can practically reach across and touch my next door neighbors unit.  The units are extremely close together and almost feel like you are in an urban jungle. The trees are very young so there really isn't a whole lot of shade and seem to be in terrible locations for slide outs, awnings or to exit that park. They up front of the unit and brush up against the units. But each site has a picnic table.  And, a great feature to each site is that the pads are concrete AND there is a place for your vehicle next to your rig!
Web Photo
On the map near "Reserved Parking" just to the left is a dog park.  It's wire gates and very large with a small sprinkling of grass, which again, is disappointing for the dogs.  They roll around in the dirt and then your coach gets dirty...ask how I know!  But, the dogs enjoyed being able to run free.

While it's very clean and very pristine, it is restrictive especially to dog owners. They claim to be dog friendly, but I saw no evidence of this except for a dog park and the girls are part of the family so I deducted from this aspect.  Even the dog part was not friendly with the dry, dirt that the girls rolled in and then tracked dirt back into the coach.  While it's a classy place, the units are just too close together for my taste.  These two things lower my ranking.

My rating for this resort would be 4/5 or a 8/10.
