Grand Forks Campground

We left Minnesota Saturday, August 18th heading for home and stopped at Grand Forks, North Dakota at the Grand Forks Campground at 4796 42nd St S.  It took us about 5 hours to drive to Grand Forks where just rested and relaxed.  To get to the property we took a small gravel frontage road and had to dodge a few potholes from recent rain.
The campground was basic.  It was split down the middle with campsites on the left and right of the main drive of the property.  At the end of the drive was the office and playground in a large grassy area.  We were assigned site F1.  It's the first site in row F right by the office.  We had a gravel pad, grass for the dogs, a picnic table and trees on each side of us.  We actually met a man who used to live in California where we did who has kids going to Utah State in Logan, so it was a small world.
You can see our rig through the playground.
The office didn't offer anything special and had a lot of wasted space they could have put in a small store.  It also had a small TV area and a small dining room.  I think they could have utilized this better.
Our site is just behind this building.
The campground doesn't have a website - we only found the park by Googling camp sites in Grand Forks.  We only paid $35 for the night and they didn't charge any tax, so I guess it's either included or they charge under the books.  They also do not give discounts.  But, they did have a laundry and bath house attached to the office.
Amenities for this place include:

  • Pull Thru Sites
  • Few Back Ins
  • Full Hookups
  • Shade Trees
  • Grass
  • Picnic Table
  • Dog Pens OK
  • Vending Machine
  • Bath House
  • Laundry (4 washer / 4 dryer)
  • Playground
  • Dump Station
  • WiFi

The nice thing about this campground is that we didn't have to out until noon, so we were able to attend church the next morning about 7 miles away.  When we got back, we packed up and got ready to leave.  Unfortunately, I noticed that in order to get out, the tree on the left of our site had branches that hung down too low that would scratch our rig so I told the office staff so they could take care of it after we left.  It wasn't a big deal because I just backed out and then drove to the right of Row F where I went to the far north exit.  There was plenty of room behind me, so it was easy peasy.

We gave this park a 2 rating.  Nothing to it - just a place to stay.  Average sites and facilities with not much in the amenity department.
